I recently had the opportunity to see an early screening of the movie Mighty Fine. First let me start by saying that the movie really hit home for me. Although the my family wasn’t as volatile as some of the moments in the movie, I felt like I could relate to the experience. We were also able to take part in a live video chat with some of the Actors after the movie concluded. I thought of how amazing it was to be able to get some of their perspectives on their characters.

The movie stars Chazz Palminter, Andie Macdowell, Jodelle Ferland and Rainy Qualley. I thought they all did an amazing job with making their character feel real. You could really feel the emotion the entire movie which I know sometimes doesn’t come through in other movies.

The movie deals with a family in the 70′s. The father, played by Chazz Palminter, in the family has some major Rage issues. Unfortunately back in that time it was very taboo to talk about mental problems one could be having. Even if it was with a trusted family doctor. The stigma surrounding mental health if very evident in the movie. At one point Joe Fine, the dad, promises to go to the doctor at the urging of his wife. Instead of getting help, he actually makes it seem as if his wife is over reacting because she is a Holocaust survivor.

There were parts of the movie that had me sobbing for this family. The fear and sadness of all the other Fine members is clearly evident. There was a part that dealt with suicide and it was a very big crying scene for me. It was hard to watch the effects on the family. It was really a beautiful movie overall. It could help so many people see issues that they may have without really realizing it until seeing the on screen similarities.

The movie hits select theaters May 25th! I urge you to go see it. It’s a very thought provoking and eye opening movie!

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mighty Fine and the distributor. I received access to an online showing of the film and a promotional item to thank me for participating”

With Blogher’12 less than three months away, I knew I needed to start looking into getting some new business cards. Thinking back to last year, I’m slightly embarrassed about my cards. Especially once I saw some of the ones that other people had.

For example, I had NO clue that cards came in any form other than rectangular. With companies like UPrinting, that isn’t all that is offered. If you go to their business cards section you can look at the many different variety of Die Cut cards that they offered. I seriously had no clue that such great cards like that existed until I saw their site.

Another great thing is affordability. Their die cut cards start as low as $46.53. I thought I would have to pay 80 or more for cards like that but for 250 leaf cut cards it was only about $52. And for an extra 250 cards, to make 500 total, it priced it at only a $6 difference! They also have a really convenient Instant Price Calculator which I’ve used multiple times to compare prices of each type of die cut cards!

I can’t wait to get my cards ordered for this year and show off something I truly love and be so proud to give out. I know they will be great!

Eating-

I feel like I did well this week. Of course there were times we ate out but even with those, I either ate less than normal or got something that wasn’t as bad for me.

I was also pretty decent with water this week. And by decent I mean I drank at least two cups a day. I know that I want to eventually get to 3 liters a day but I have such a hard time forcing it to go down.

I’ve also only had about 1 McDonald’s pop for the last two days. That is about the equivalent of 2.333 12oz cans. I k ow it doesn’t seem like much but it really is an improvement.

Exercise-

Ha! I feel like exercise has completely eluded me this week. I was in my home town for the birth of my newest nephew Tuesday and Wednesday last week. And then I had to back down to see my dad on Thursday. It’s about an hour and ten minutes each way so needless to say I was tired when I got home. On Friday I walked around the mall with the monsters for about two and a half hours by myself so I guess that’s something right?

This week really won’t be much better. My run is in like 4 days. I won’t be able to run the whole hong but that’s okay! Even if I run most of it, I’ll be dry happy with that. So today and Thursday I will do 20-25 minute runs and that’s about it for exercise until Sunday or Monday. Maybe I’ll do my video today and I won’t be sore by Saturday. I guess that’s something extra right?!

How do I feel-

I feel good. I feel attractive honestly. I have been doing my make up and hair even though I don’t leave the house very often. I feel like dressing up even if I’m just going to the store. I guess I hadn’t realized the total lack of caring about how I looked.

Chris has been helping a lot as well with making me feel attractive. I mean there has never been a lack of “you look beautiful” or “you’re hott” in our relationship but I think now it’s easier to believe since I can see it more regularly in myself.

Stats-

Starting Weight- 302.4
Last Weigh in-277.4
This Weeks Weigh in- 276.4(down 1lb)

Eating

I have found it increasingly hard to bunker down and stick to my calories for this last week. I mean I usually wouldn’t go over by a lot but late night snack was ALWAYS the culprit. But today I did well. I’m still about 150 under and haven’t gone for my run.

Exercise

I bought a new Jillian Michaels DVD that was on clearance for 4 dollars. I couldn’t pass it up when they normally charge 10-20 bucks for one. It’s Jillian Michaels For Beginners Frontside DVD. I really want to start trying to tone with my running. While running is helping I know that muscle toning and weight lifting will get me much farther than just cardio exercises alone.

My running has been going alright. I actually can’t believe my first race is in 18 days. I know that there isn’t anyway I can run the whole thing but that’s okay. It’s the effort I put in and even if I mostly run it, then I win in my books. Chris is going to come and watch which I’m excited about. I wasn’t sure if it was a possibility at first because of work, but he requested off!

I’m also going to try and burn 2000 calories this week. I don’t want to overdo myself in these last couple of weeks because I know there would be a good chance that I would injure myself!

Stats

Starting Weight:302.4lbs
Last Weeks Weight: 278lbs
This Weeks Weight:277.4lbs(↓ .6lbs)
