A Haircut for Landon!

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013

I know it’s been a while since I’ve had just an update. If school wasn’t busy as is, I started an English class that’s only 8 weeks. That pretty much means 4 papers in an 8 week period. Anyway…even though I haven’t been updating all the time, we are still busy busy around here. Going to school full time and being a stay at home parent means you never stop.

Recently Landon asked for a hair cut. He hasn’t had a haircut in probably over a year because that was the last time he said he wanted one.

Before

As you can see, it had gotten kind of long and was starting to get a little tangled when it wasn’t brushed at least once a day. But he decided it was time for a trim.

After

You would think by that face, it was forced but it wasn’t. I feel like he looks so much older now. I can’t believe how big he’s getting already. My little baby is going to be five years old in about a month and a half.

Do you let your kids pick when they want their hair cut?

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at The Kohl Children’s Museum {Chicago Area}

Monday, October 29th, 2012

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz exhibit features larger than life pop-up books that dazzle the eyes and stimulates the mind. Each section of this exhibit, based on the book published in 1900 by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow, is an oversized three-dimensional page from the original story. Experience science, art and history through the magic of this timeless story and instill a love of reading and storytelling in young children. My readers receive $1 Off Child admission with this coupon!

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was developed by the Great Explorations Children’s Museum.

I can’t wait to take the kids to this. They really love the Kolh Children’s Museum so I can only imagine they will adore this new and fun exhibit. They loved the movie and I’m sure they’ll have so much fun with mom and dad seeing a life size version of the book!

I was not compensated for this post. I may receive ticket to the Kohl Children’s Museum in exchange for this post. All opinions stated are true and my own.

Things I wish I had done before having kids

1:Sky Diving

I have always wanted to skydive. I don’t really remember a time when I didn’t. It always looked fun and scary as hell all at once. It’s a tad funny now because once I had kids, I became instantly afraid of dying. But even with that, It’s something I plan on doing one day. Once I’m done having babies and they are older, I will be jumping out of a plane with a parachute.

2:Travel

I think a lot of people wish this. They wish they had seen more or done more. My thing is that I won’t be able to see a lot of Europe until the kids are either older or out of the house. I would love to see Rome, Paris, London and maybe go to Ireland. But the expense for use and two-three kids is a lot. I just wish I could have seen it all before.

3:Bungee Jumping

Another “dare devil” activity I think would be a blast!

4:Moved

Growing up, we moved, a lot. It was Illinois, Arizona, Illinois, Oregon, Illinois. We always came back here but besides my sister, I don’t care to live in this area. I love Chicago but being on the west coast, we were able to see a lot. We traveled to San Diego and San Francisco. We saw they awesome Red Wood Forest in Northern Cali. I’ve been all over Oregon and Washington.

I loved/love Washington. I’m a big city girl at heart. I love all that city’s have to offer. Tons of people, fantastic food and there is always something to do. This is why it was a huge deal for me to go to New York City. I crave city life. I married a man who loves Illinois. His family is here. He loves it completely. Chances of us moving are slim to none until I’m at least 30. I wish I had moved more before I had the monsters.

This one is pretty easy. It would be nice to already have a degree. It would be great if I was already Allie Ferriera RN. It’ll happen I know but it will probably be a much more daunting task because I have to worry about my kids, homework, writing papers and clinicals. Again I know it can be done but it would be an easier task if I had done it before kids!

Do you wish you had done thinks before having your kids?

I realize that one or any of these could mean that I didn’t have my kids. If it was either do all this or have my kids and husband, then there is NO question in which I would pick.
