Logitech Keyboard and Mouse #Review

What I Think-

We are a laptop only family right now. My husband and I both have laptops. Probably within the next year, we’ll get a desktop so the kids can use it as well but for now, we only have our individual computers.

That being said, when the kids want to use my computer to either play games or look at their educational sites, it can be hard. They haven’t quite grasped the mouse pad. They also don’t really use the keyboard yet.

With this mouse and keyboard though, it’s perfect. When I received them, I true did plug and forget. I haven’t taken the USB’s out since. The kids really like the mouse for their stuff. It’s easy for them to use and it tracks well. I was worried with it being wireless it might not be that great but I haven’t had a problem since. The keyboard is so quiet and the kids like telling me the letters on it.

I also love the slight incline. It’s not too much but just enough for me when I’m working at our table. I can push my computer back and still have access around the screen with the wireless keyboard and mouse. I love it and once we finally get a desktop, they will go there.

Where you can Buy it-

You can see all the other products Logitech offers on their site. You can also buy the mouse and keyboard on their site for $29.99 a piece!

What I think

I’ve had a chi straightener for about two years now. If I had normal, non bleached hair, it would probably do well. I mean when I first received it as a gift, it was perfect. Since then, I’ve dyed it multiple times, bleached it and then dyed it some more.

Right now my hair is some what hard to straighten with my chi because I have to go over pieces two to three times before it gets as straight as I like it. I know that doesn’t seem like much, and really with only having to do the top of my head right now, it’s not. But it still takes up time that I really don’t want to waste by going over the same area again.

I don’t know if it’s the straightener or not but my hair also doesn’t feel as dry afterwards. Even though it’s dyed and bleached, it doesn’t really feel dry like it has at other times in my life. I was worried with the bleach and the almost daily straightening, that it would feel gross but so far that hasn’t been my experience. I love the Silicone Protexion Straightener and for less than the price of a chi, it’s perfect!

Energizer/Crayola Team up equals win for mom!

Sunday, November 25th, 2012

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending an event in Chicago. The event was for Crayola and Energizer. I was really excited because Crayola is huge in our home and we eat batteries like crazy with the kids gaming systems.

It seems as if we always have batteries on our shopping list. I had always hated stock piling before because I thought they may go to waste. We had some previously that when we opened the package to use them, ran out fairly quickly.

During the fun family event that Energizer hosted, I learned some awesome things about Energizer that I hadn’t known before. They recently released Energizer Max batteries. The wonderful thing about them, they have a ten year shelf life. Meaning, when not in use, they can last on the shelf for 10 years and still function. I know I can’t wait to stock up on them for the Holidays.

We often find our family needing batteries, but since the having batteries quit on us easily, I haven’t really kept extras around. I also learned that Energizer and Crayola have teamed up. When you buy select packages of Energizer Max Batteries, you will receive a booklet of $20 in coupons for certain Crayola items. Awesome right? I think it would be perfect to buy the batteries and then you can save some money on holiday gifts for the kids in your family! I know I can’t wait to use mine for the monsters!

I also wanted to let you know about Energizers wonderful Flameless candles. They are perfect for the Holidays as they smell fantastic without having to worry about making sure the kids can’t reach them or pets can’t knock the over. They have a timer for the length of time they stay on as well as never having to changed the LED bulb! Like I said perfect.

You can follow along with what Energizer is up to on their facebook page!

A Mighty Fine Movie

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

I recently had the opportunity to see an early screening of the movie Mighty Fine. First let me start by saying that the movie really hit home for me. Although the my family wasn’t as volatile as some of the moments in the movie, I felt like I could relate to the experience. We were also able to take part in a live video chat with some of the Actors after the movie concluded. I thought of how amazing it was to be able to get some of their perspectives on their characters.

The movie stars Chazz Palminter, Andie Macdowell, Jodelle Ferland and Rainy Qualley. I thought they all did an amazing job with making their character feel real. You could really feel the emotion the entire movie which I know sometimes doesn’t come through in other movies.

The movie deals with a family in the 70′s. The father, played by Chazz Palminter, in the family has some major Rage issues. Unfortunately back in that time it was very taboo to talk about mental problems one could be having. Even if it was with a trusted family doctor. The stigma surrounding mental health if very evident in the movie. At one point Joe Fine, the dad, promises to go to the doctor at the urging of his wife. Instead of getting help, he actually makes it seem as if his wife is over reacting because she is a Holocaust survivor.

There were parts of the movie that had me sobbing for this family. The fear and sadness of all the other Fine members is clearly evident. There was a part that dealt with suicide and it was a very big crying scene for me. It was hard to watch the effects on the family. It was really a beautiful movie overall. It could help so many people see issues that they may have without really realizing it until seeing the on screen similarities.

The movie hits select theaters May 25th! I urge you to go see it. It’s a very thought provoking and eye opening movie!

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mighty Fine and the distributor. I received access to an online showing of the film and a promotional item to thank me for participating”

Bed Shopping

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

I’ve been wondering lately if we should save up to get a new bed. I mean we’ve had our for years! Chris had it before we got together so that right there is at least five years. Yea, now that I think about it, if I’m wondering then it’s probably time. I mean I know that our mattress sometimes kills my back when I wake up. We really need a bed set, mattress and box spring if we decide not to go with a platform bed!

It can be hard to get out and go shopping. Especially when I have very young kids and no car whenever my husband is at work. So once I started thinking about it, I started looking around online. That way I could get price ideas, reviews and things like that. I mean of course I would want to try a bed out in a store first but in my experience, I can usually buy online for cheaper.

I found a UK based site called Bedstar. Even though I’m not in the country, I was curious about prices comparably. I like to see how much stuff can be different places. I found a bed that would called a super king which is in between a queen and a king in America for $350! That is a pretty great price compared to some places near myself!. And of course if you’re in the UK then buying online with BedStar Shop may just be for you! I know if I lived there I would love to buy one of those, if it fit our comfort needs of course.

This post was sponsored and is written in association with Bedstar. However all opinions are true and my own!
